Season opener in Styria: During the first DTM weekend of 2026 at the Red Bull Ring (April 24–26), Ben Dörr immediately showed in the Dörr Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3 Evo that car number 25 is a force to be reckoned with this year.
Front row in qualifying
Already in Saturday’s qualifying, Ben clocked the second-fastest time with a 1:27.418 — second on the grid and thus a front-row start for the season opener. The reward: the first two qualifying points of the year.
In Saturday’s race, the dream of an opening podium ended early: a collision with Bastian Buus occurred in Turn 1 immediately after the start, for which the Porsche driver received a five-second penalty. For Ben, the incident meant an early exit from the battle for the lead — finishing P20 in the official standings.
Comeback on Sunday
The response followed on Sunday: with a spirited performance in the second race, Ben drove to seventh place, taking home nine more points from Spielberg. The conclusion after the first of eight race weekends: the pace is there — the front row in qualifying was the proof.
