This moment now has its own line in the DTM history books: On May 24, 2026, Ben Dörr crossed the line in Zandvoort in second place — his first DTM podium and, at the same time, the first podium for McLaren in DTM history.
A weekend on level terms with the best
Saturday’s race in the dunes was already strong: fifth place and 11 points. On Sunday, it then became historic — and that despite a moment of alarm: At the first pit stop, a wheel nut jammed and cost valuable time. Ben kept his cool, regained the position on track, and brought the No. 25 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo home in second — behind winner Kelvin van der Linde and ahead of record champion Marco Wittmann.
P6 in the championship
With 42 points after four of 16 races, Ben is sixth in the drivers’ standings as the best McLaren driver. Next up is the Lausitzring from June 19 to 21.
Zandvoort result
- Race 1: P5
- Race 2: P2 — first DTM podium, first McLaren podium in DTM history
