Charge into the Points on Saturday
The DTM weekend at the Sachsenring started from a challenging position for Ben Dörr and Team Dörr Motorsport. In the first qualifying session, the 21-year-old McLaren Junior placed his number 25 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo 15th on the grid.
During the first race, Dörr steadily gained ground on the track. He crossed the finish line in tenth position, 35.277 seconds behind the race winner, collecting six valuable championship points. Victory in Saturday’s race went to Marco Wittmann, with Jules Gounon in second and Thomas Preining finishing third.
Triumphant Success: First Place in Race 2
On Sunday, Dörr Motorsport underlined the strong pace of the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo. In the second qualifying session, Ben Dörr secured a strong starting spot by qualifying in fourth position.
Starting from the second row, Dörr claimed victory on the challenging track in Sunday’s race. With first place, he earned the maximum 25 championship points. Thomas Preining in second and Ricardo Feller in third completed the podium positions behind Dörr.
Championship Standings Overview
In his third DTM season, Ben Dörr took away a total of 31 points from the Sachsenring weekend. In the drivers’ standings, the 21-year-old sits in seventh place with 123 points. The championship is led by Thomas Preining with 197 points, followed by Maro Engel on 174 points and Marco Wittmann on 173 points.
